Afghani Pulao Is Healthy & Hearty Dish: Afghani Pulao is an healthy and hearty dish that works just well in the summers as in winters too. The combination of texture, color and nutritional value made this pulao dish as a complete healthy meal. Afghani Pulao Served: Afghani Pulao can be usually served at restaurants and at homes at lunch/dinner.
Instructions to make Afghani Pulao:
- Heat 3 tbsp Oil and add carrot, 2 tbsp sugar, raisins, almond and fry for 3-4 minutes. Now take out in a bowl and set aside.
- Take 3 tbsp oil in a pan add onion, ginger garlic paste, whole spices, green chilli and fry it till got brown.
- Now add beef and fry it for 3 to 4 minutes
- Now add salt, cumin, coriander powder, cumin powder,and sugar mix it well.add water and boil untill beef is soft and tender.
- Now take out beef meat and set aside
- Now add rice and cook it for 2-3 minutes. now add cooked beef and steam for 10-15 minutes.
- Now add fried carrots,capcicum,almonds, raisins and steam for more 2 minutes. - 8-Remove rice from the pan and transfer to serving bowl/dish and top the rice with the carrots and raisins. Serve.
Kabuli pulao is often considered as the national dish of Afghanistan. There are different versions of kabuli pulao (also called kabuli palaw or qabili palaw): some with chicken, some with beef and some with lamb. However, the method of cooking and the spices remain in large part the same. I just love lamb so there was no way I would make the chicken or beef version of kabuli palaw.
